Subj: Re: Why doesn't srequest -update ptos-30-fys work?
I believe that srequest is looking for the file "30" in
./ptos/logs/srequest/bl02, when it exists in ./ptos/logs/srequest/bl01. Using
"srequest -update" is not how to get the srequest form associated with BL2. You
can update the srequest by specifying bl1 if you wish, but the project leader
must move the srequest using "srequest -move" to have it associated with BL2.

Hi buildhelp,
I am trying to use ode command:
srequest -update srequest_defect_number
because the build I was backed against for the original srequest (ptos BL 1)
closed before I could get my bsubmit to it and the above command is what the
Platinum commitee recommended for this situation "to update the form to BL
2". But I get the following message when I attempt the "update" using the
original srequest defect number "ptos-30-fys":
$ srequest -update ptos-30-fys
This submit request update will be logged against release 'ptos'
Is this correct ? [y]:
Enter the baselevel NUMBER [2]:
ERROR: Form 'ptos-30-fys' not found
Exiting .....
$
What is it looking for when it says "ERROR: Form 'ptos-30-fys' not found", and
"where"? (That is, what is the "exact filename" and its "path"?) There is no
file named "*ptos-30-fys*" anywhere in my local backing tree nor is there a
file with text "ptos-30-fys" in it.
When I tried "making" a form named form.ptos-fys-30 (by extracting the one
"mailed" to me") and then using that as an "alternate form" I got the following
error:
$ srequest -update ptos-30-fys -f /u/fys/QAR24479/form.ptos-fys-30
ERROR: -form option is not allowed with the
- -cancel, -update -state, -move or -view options
Exiting .....
