ODE RCS Server - Buffer - To Be Taken Down Friday (11/4) from 11-1

Buffer has reported errors that indicate the potential for some 
serious disk problems on its root and swap partitions. After 
reviewing the release schedules for all of UEG's current release 
streams, we are planning to take Buffer down from 11-1 on Friday, 
November 4th.  

Next week is a very critcal week for Gold.minor and HW3 so we 
have decided, in order to accomodate these schedules, it is better 
to perform this required maintenance this week.  We have planned 
the downtime with proper contingencies versus the risk of unplanned 
system down time. 

We appreciate your consideration for this unexpected but essential
planned downtime.  

During the downtime, the RCS pool will be locked for all activity
including read-only activity.  Affected commands include:
	- ODE "b" commands (bco, bci, bcs, blog, bdiff, bstat, bsubmit)
	- srequest

Note that this only affects the DEC OSF/1 engineering pools.  
QA/QC and Documentation pools will remain unaffected.
Backing trees will still be available for read only activities, 
including sandbox builds.
