Scott,
Not sure what your ODE problem is. Darrell has taken a look and it does
not make sense as to why John cannot get a valid kerberos ticket.
We have moved the builds back to 9:00 this evening and the pools will lock
at 8:55 pm. Perhaps that time will allow you to move the files to another
sandbox.

That makes two of us. We're stumped here. Any suggestions from the "odehelp"
folks? John's the only person on this system who can't get a ticket.
John, did you try getting a ticket from one of the other test machines that
mounts your home account? The sandbox disks are all exported, too, so you
should be able to build/submit from any of them (theoretically). You might
need to do the rudimentary ODE setup.

We were gone by the time you sent this out yesterday. I assume that this means
gmpt isn't going to let John submit now that the pool is closed? (if we can
get this kerberos problem debugged or worked-around)
Thanks,
Scott

I was able to run ODE client workstation setup on kramer and
obtained a kerberos ticket there.
However, when I did the submit I got the following error:
>> FATAL ERROR in /usr/sde/ode2.1/tools/alpha_ace/bin/ode/bsubmit:
>> You are prevented from submitting to: /usr/sde/osf1/build/goldminos.
>> No entry in submit or sadmin access lists.
Is this because I'm submitting from a different machine? If so,
then I need permissions for kramer for this submit. I'll also
need to have kramer made available to me periodically so I can
do bco,bci in the future.
Or is the error message another clue in the mystery of why I can't
get a ticket on flame?
Or is this because the code freeze for goldminos. is in effect?

Looks to me up here that the Gold Minor pool is locked. You'll need to
check with Joe Kenny [GM PL]. I had gone for the night when you sent
your "time of out bounds" mail. One thing that happened up here last week
was that the first system in the /etc/krb.conf was having timing problems.
In the future, one way to debug this is to not only check that the time on
your system is in sync, but to check that the kerberos server that you are
going to is in sync. The /etc/krb.conf is an ordered list of servers that
are accessed when you perform kerberos commands.
Are you now able to "kinit" from your workstation?

John,
Thank you for your attention.
The LAT development team share a machine explicitly reserved
for kernel builds. FYI: the machine name is flame.
Every member of the team is able to obtain a ticket on flame except
for me. Does the sync issue discriminate? Why against me?
>> Are you now able to "kinit" from your workstation?
I am still unable to kinit from flame. However, I can kinit
from other timeshares on the network. For now, gaining a ticket
on another machine is a diagnostic clue, not an immediate work-around.
However, if I can't get a ticket on flame anymore...
