875.0. "problems attempting to submit to Gold Minor" by SMURF::FILTER (Automatic Posting Software - mail to flume::puck) Wed Aug 10 1994 21:49

Subj: problems attempting to submit to Gold Minor

I'm trying to submit to Gold Minor, but my 'bsubmit -info -all'
tells me the submit will fail. It seems to fail during the
'Validating submission...' step, but does not tell me why.

'bstat -all' and 'bdiff -r$NEW' seem to work OK.

Output from 'bsubmit -info -verbose -all' below.

Your prompt attention would be appreciated, I'd like to
get this into BL1 of Gold Minor which closes this evening.

Thanks,

- Jack

Well, I found out why 'bsubmit -info -all' didn't like my submit.
I had 3 files that needed merging. I wound up doing a 'bsubmit -info'
on each individual file. This told me when I needed to do merges.

It would be nice if 'bsubmit -info -all' gave me a clue as to
what was wrong, even if it was just 'some files need merging'.

Jack, can you please enter this as a PTT report? In your sandbox
type gen-ptt and follow the instructions. you can check out
odeman gen-ptt first. Be sure to include the 1-liner abstract in
the form as well as the problem statement.

thanks... -josh

Hi

I am working on a demo which requires TGA on a Sable. It is my understanding
that this will require at least Gold Minor BL4. I have a BL2 disk which I
can install on the Sable, and it is my understanding that I can then
use kernels from a BL4 sandbox to develop this demo.

My question is: Do I need permission, electronic or administrative, to SUP a
backing tree onto my machine here in MKO so that I can build the needed
kernel locally?

Thanks
Debby

Debby;

In order to obtain backing trees from ZK3 you have to
have a local OSF site license in order to have sources locally.
Do you have this ? If not contact Dave Pushee. Once you
have this in place I can assist you along. If you would
rather discuss this on the phone please call me @881-1019.

Regards,

  Barry
