Steve,

This error means that your sandbox couldn't read through it's link into
the backing tree's rc_files

>> No Access to Backing Tree Through link dir:/work/sb/sja/v13sb/rc_files/../link
>> Error parsing rc description file ./shared

This appears to be just a local mount problem; the local copy of the backing
tree(s) in Locus appear to not be NFS mounted on your system.  Check that
you can cd to /work/sb/sja/v13sb/link.

This could also be caused by a group permission problem, if it's necessary
to be within a particular group to gain read access to the pools.  Here one
must be in group 'staff'.

I find all of our sandboxes to be unavailable.  Is this a wide area phenomenon or 
is it particular to Locus?  A sample follows
