What is it that you get?
|
| When I try submitting to my shared sandbox I get the following from bsubmit.
| What is is trying to tell me? I've checked the ownerships, etc of the files
| and they look ok. I assume (perhaps incorrectly since ODE is not know
| for it informative error messages) it's referring to t he kxct.conf file
| in the logs directory. This is world readable and owned by the shared
| sandbox administrator.
|
| Thanks,

Pete, make sure that the src/kxct.conf and logs/kxct.conf are real files
owned by the sharedsb owner, not links to the central global_rc.files.
see if this might be the problem. by default, mksharedsb makes
these files as links to files owned by devbld.

Josh,
Thanks, it was the kxct.conf in the src directory (I had made the one in
the logs directory a file with proper ownership rather than a symlink. I
didn't know about the one in the src directory. It was nice of bsubmit
to tell me which one it was complaining about :->
Thanks for you help. It seems to be working now.

What osf tree are you backed to?
This is not a problem with your sandbox.
I can recreate it as well backed to ptliteos.
uptodate compares SNAPSHOT files, and is failing in comparing
SNAPSHOT files. Although the SNAPSHOT files look fine.
Will look further into this.

Not sure if you received a response dave, but all pools still seem to be
locked. I assme this to mean that the ode downtime scheduled for Sunday
perhaps started earlier and hasn't been finished?

I have been getting this error the last couple of days when I try to do ode
comands in my sandbox. I can build fine, I just cannot change the state of my
files. A couple of days ago, I did get into this sandbox from another system
while I was still in the sandbox on my system. Could this be the cause? How
do I fix this? (I am no longer in the workons from either of those sessions,
but the error persists.)
% bcs -o -u main.c
Waiting for sandbox lock (with lockf())
Thanks in advance.

Look for a .BCSlock file in the src dir of your sandbox and nuke it.
