Subj: ODE backingtree server "lastin" to be replaced by "kgb"
developers on red-net, remote sup sites, and general ODE
backing tree users, this message is for you.
NFS server "lastin" will be replaced by a new machine
called "kgb". All of the current backingtrees which now
reside on lastin will be copied to kgb.
kgb is the third of several DEC3000-M600's which are
replacing our MIPS/ULTRIX based servers. kgb is running
DEC OSF/1 V2.0.
Here is the plan of dates related to this activity:
Wednesday, May 25
~12:00pm = The ode_fstab file will be modified to
mount filesystems from kgb.
= Users who currently mount /usr/sde from
lastin should attempt to remount
kgb:/usr/sde. kgb already has /usr/sde
exported for those of you who would
like to remount today.
= ZKO sup collection lists will be modified
to reflect the host changes. Remote sup
sites will need to modify their
collections lists also.
Thursday, May 26
~08:00am = The current set of exports from lastin
will be removed.
~1:00pm = The system lastin will be brought down so
that existing hardware resources can be
reassigned to new servers.
The affected filesystems are:
Exports list on lastin:
