Subj: reminder: ODE backingtree server "bigbld" being replaced by "cia"

This message serves as a reminder about the system change
from bigbld to nsa. I noticed that only two client systems
	have mounted from "cia".

Later today, around 5:00pm I'll update ode_fstab, and toggle
the links in the /usr/sde/osf1/build area to point to cia
instead of bigbld. Some of you will need to remount.

	+++++

developers on green-white-net, remote sup sites, and
general ODE backing tree users, this message is for you.

NFS server "bigbld" will be replaced by a new machine
called "cia". All of the current backingtrees which now
reside on bigbld will be copied to cia.

cia is the second of several DEC3000-M600's which are
replacing our MIPS/ULTRIX based servers. cia will be
	running DEC OSF/1 V2.0.

Here is the plan of dates related to this activity:

Friday, Apr 29 = The ode_fstab file will be modified to
			    mount filesystems from cia.

= Users who currently mount /usr/sde from
		 	    bigbld should attempt to remount
			    cia:/usr/sde.

= ZKO sup collection lists will be modified
to reflect the host changes. Remote sup
sites will need to modify their
                            collections lists also.

Saturday, Apr 30 = The current set of exports from bigbld
will be removed, except for /usr/sde, for
those of you who can't switch on Friday.

Monday, May 2 = The system bigbld will be brought down so
that existing hardware resources can be
			    reassigned to new servers.

	The affected filesystems are:

	Exports list on bigbld:

	/share/bigbld/build/ev5os.dsk6 # ev5os.nightly
	/share/bigbld/build/goldos.dsk5 # goldos.nightly1
	/share/bigbld/build/goldos.dsk1 # goldos.nightly2
	/share/bigbld/build/agos.dsk2 # agosmaint.bl6
	/share/bigbld/build/alpha.dsk5 # alpha.bl012
	/share/bigbld/build/agosmaint.dsk1 # V1.3A.prime

/usr/sde # ODE tools for the crowd
					        # on green-white net.

note that /share/cia/build/goldos.dsk6 will hold both copies
of the goldos.nightly toggle set. only one NFS mount will
	be required.

	have another good day.
