Subj: RE - Problem SUP'ing qaqc.nightly
Hi,
I found the reason why you couldn't sup qaqc.nightly.
The problem was that at the time you attempted to sup the files the pool
didn't exist.
Now I should explain. When I initially set up qaqc.nightly I created a script
to update the backing tree, which would be executed via cron every morning at
1AM. The first thing the script did was to rename the backing tree before it ran
mkback, an ode utility to rebuild a backing tree. There was a bug in the script
, but only when run via cron, it worked fine when executed from command line.
Therefore I commented out the line in the crontab file which would execute my
script. The plan was to run the script manually until I could fix the problem.
Apparantly the crontab file entry was uncommented recently and the script had
been executing, with the result being that qaqc.nightly didn't exist. I would
then run the script in the morning when I arrived. This explains why you could
sup the files during the day.
Anyway, I have fixed the script and it has run successfully from cron for the
last 5 days.
Sorry for the confusion and thanks for your time.
-Paul
