Nope, the workon is still failing. Before I sent the previous message,
I had tried it but forgot the -sb option before the sandbox name, so it
looked like it had succeeded but actually put me in my default sandbox
(which was not backed by goldos). The workon (to my goldos-backed sandbox)
fails as follows:
sauce 1% workon -sb lock1
cannot find include file ../link/rc_files/shared.sharedsandbox
>> FATAL ERROR in workon:
>> No Access to Backing Tree Through link
dir:/share/buffer/build/submits.dsk2/goldos/rc_files/../link
Error parsing rc description file ./shared
Error parsing rc description file ../link/rc_files/shared.sharedsandbox
Error parsing rc description file ./shared
sauce 2%
Can anyone help with this? I'm prevented from getting my work done now.
Thanks. -ernie

Xor appears to be wedged. It's needed for agosminor.bl9. I think you
may be able to make progress by backing against goldos.nightly.
It's not dependent on agosminor.bl9 or Xor.

No, I absolutely need the submit tree because I'm sync'ed with Friday's
submits and the build failed last night. I also wanted to test out my
changes to fix the build, but it's too late for that. I submitted them
anyway. If you tell me where "xor" is, I could go reboot it, or at least
see if it's just a dead "mountd" or something. I couldn't find it in the
lab and it wasn't listed in the map hanging outside one of the entrances.
I suppose I can wait until tomorrow, hoping that if tonight's build is ok,
I'll be able to back by goldos.nightly tomorrow. By the way, "xor" isn't
dead -- it answers to ping's and it's serving nfs requests to nodes which
already have agosminor.bl9 mounted (it just won't allow another mount).
Cheers. -ernie

Ok Ernie (and Bill). You should be OK now. Yes, it was wedged, and yes it was
exactly as you described. I could login and do normal things, but it wouldn't
allow any additional mounts. I tried killing and restarting the daemons, but
couldn't get it to work and so ended up rebooting. I tried it and it did allow
a new mount. Fire away.
