Bob,

Did you try making a completely new backing tree, rather than just removing
the obj? It could be an incompatibility with something in your src. This
would rule out your src/ from being part of the problem.

Actually, because of this problem I did start over from scratch last
week.  I just got back to it today.  The only file that I have replaced
is the Jensen parallel port driver at this point.

BTW, these problems started when I upgraded from 1.3.  (Just because I
wanted to use kdebug!)  I had to downgrade back from bl9 to bl8 because
under bl9 I couldn't get HW2 or gold to build!

If you think something might have changed between last week and today in
the gold pool (that would have some impact on this problem that is) I'll
wipe everything again and see what happens.

Hello shashi,

Well, my sandbox is accessable on wasted at ~rps/build/sba/gold.
But I found a work-around by modifying the TOKEN_LINES define in one
of the header files of the config program.  I didn't really look into 
what it is used for other than to allocate some space for line buffering, 
but this implies to me that some difference between 1.3 and 2.0 has caused 
some lines to grow to the point where they no longer fit into the 5 line 
buffer set aside in the current config program.

Anyway, increasing this to 10 makes everything work so unless you think
this change to config will cause some other problems for me, I guess I'm
all set for now.
