Hi,
Has it been confirmed that ODEV2.1 will not run on workstations
running Sterling PRE-BL8?

rich, it seems that ode v2.1 may be ok from what Jim Woodward sent - the
ode v2.0 + sup-patches seems to have problems, though.

I've heard the problem are only in pre-bl8 and will not be in bl8.

hi rich,

the problem is that ode 2.0 images were linked with shared
libraries and ode 2.1 were linked without shared libraries.

the way to tell if an image is linked for use with shared
libraries or not, do "odump -hv" on the file. if you see
a section header called .dynamic, the image was linked for
shared libraries. otherwise it's not.

so the solution for pre-bl8 is to use ode 2.1 tools.
