I'm not sure you can undo the defuncting operation on those files
without help from reng. To get around this, you can create a new
sandbox, which will be a different branch, into which the files
can be bco'd.
If you really want to continue to experiment with the current sandbox,
try using the bcs operation to outdate the Rev marked defunct. You
may also have to remove the file from a file named DEFUNCT in your
sandbox's src directory.
(Oops, I left this unmailed draft sitting around all day so far. Hope
it's still useful).
