Bill,
Flume appears to be having some problems with kinit. Perhaps
admin or the ODE developers know what the problem is? The
protections are wrong on /var/dss/kerberos/tkt, but I don't
think that is causing kinit to error. I would
suggest you try your kinit on another ULTRIX machine.
/Carolyn

Subject: kpasswd help
I have been having difficulty changing my kerberos password,
although I have no trouble getting a ticket with the old password. I
had first told my troubles to Carolyn (zap) who gave the following
response (as well as suggesting "odehelp" instead of her for these
questions):
> What OS are you running on these systems? If you are running
> OSF, kpasswd does not work on the OSF platform. Try running it
> from one of the ULTRIX production machines, cohort, locore, flume
> & quarry are all ULTRIX machines.
So I tried it on flume, still no luck, although the error
message looks more meaningful that the previous "kpasswd: Broken pipe
attempting to change password.\nPassword NOT changed." The results
appear below. Any insights?

For your reference: I have now successfully changed my
kerberos password, on machine "locore".
Thanks,
