377.0. "Setting up a sup of a remote sandbox" by SMURF::FILTER (Automatic Posting Software - mail to flume::puck) Tue Oct 12 1993 14:12

Subj: Setting up a sup of a remote sandbox

Next week, three developers from DECwest will be at ZKO
to do SMP testing for AdvFS (Megasafe file system). They
have asked that I setup a sup of their sandbox so that they
will have an up to date local copy of their sources available
to them during their visit.

What do I need to do to accomplish this? What documentation
exists that may be relevant?

I am new to OSG and a relative UNIX novice, so I'd appreciate
any help you may be able to provide.

Thanks,
Stan

Stan,

I don't believe anyone has replied to your message, so I'll
take a stab at it. I'm no expert with sup, the people
who have the most knowledge on sup in the odehelp alias
haven't been in the last couple of days.

I would suggest you review the man page on sup 'odeman sup' and
have the people out in DECwet create the supfile collection, they
should be able to get some help from the ODE developers out
there. I would suggest they contact Tina Anderson if they are
having any problems. If things are setup correctly at the ZSO
end, you should only have to use the sup command. (As I said before
I'm no expert).

/Carolyn
