Date Of Receipt: 25-AUG-1993 09:51:05.94 From: QUARRY::pderr "Peter Derr AUEG 25-Aug-1993 0950" To: odehelp@DEC:.zko.quarry CC: Subj: behavior of 'bci -m' Hi, I just did 'bci -m"some comment" -all' expecting the comment to provide the modification comment for those files which had no comment or no headers, but I was surprised when the comment replaced the existing modification comments I had written in some files. Is this really the correct behavior? Thanks, Peter

Date Of Receipt: 25-AUG-1993 09:57:27.04 From: FLAMBE::johnf "John Flanagan OSG Test Johnf Tools Group 25-Aug-1993 0956" To: "Peter Derr" <pderr@DEC:.zko.flambe> CC: johnf@DEC:.zko.flambe, odehelp@DEC:.zko.flambe Subj: Re: behavior of 'bci -m' This is not expected behavior, and I believe we have a PTT out against this. If you have existing modification comments, the expected behavior is that it leaves those comments alone; but it's not. It's replacing them with the -m"some comment" as you observed. I'll check with Josh to make sure that there is a PTT report against this. John |
