Subj: Possible reasons for Hong Kong submit glitch

Josh,

Steve and I were attempting to determine the root of the Hong Kong
submit problems on Tuesday. Possibly a slow and/or down network had
something to do with the glitch?

/Carolyn

  Hi Steve,

    Here's what I know.

The ESC reset the REO-ZKO circuit on the WELLFLEET (the
IDNX part). That piece looks much better but beyond that
VBO-REO is still taking too long. The ESC is going to work
that piece through the European NOC.

HGO has had their DECnet circuit down with problems for the
past two days. It is back now but extremely slow from what
I can see. Don't know if you were trying DECnet at all.
A traceroute to hanulx.hgo.dec.com worked when I tried it
in tandem with the ESC. I'll keep an eye on that one and
  call them back if needed.

I tried to call you a couple of times but I'm sure you are
very busy trying to move the bits around this collapsing
  network.

  Debbie

There appears to be a problem with the file
./usr/bin/asa/Makefile
in your sandbox. I would suggest you check
the protections on the file, I think at this
stage of the submit they should be 644? Did
you edit this file at all during the submit?

If the protections look right, try adding the
- -debug switch to the resubmission. That
might give additional info that could help
you out.

Where are you submitting from? It appears that
you're not in ZK0.

Please send the debug output to 'odehelp' if you
can not resolve the problem.

/Carolyn

  I then tried :
% bsubmit -resub 4:33
Enter the defect number this submission applies to: agosminor-787-henrypau

>> FATAL ERROR in /usr/sde/tools/alpha_ace/bin/ode/bsubmit:
>> stat ./usr/bin/asa/Makefile

Please take appropriate steps and re-submit.

*** RE-SUBMISSION REQUIRED ***

- - Re-submit using -resub 4:33 [ -date 8/3/93 ]

I tried do resubmit several times, but no luck. What can I do to recover
from the error?
