Subj: $NEW variable in goldos or goldos.nightly-backed tree non-intuitive
I'm trying to verify that changes I'm merging into my development
sources are reasonable, and to do so I usually do:
bdiff -r$NEW filename.c
Unfortunately, this seems to get the wrong "base" version for sandboxes
backed to goldos or goldos.nightly. In both sandboxes, the environment
variable NEW gets set to "ALPHA;<>", and I seem to get the ALPHA
version of things rather than the nightly version of things.
What should NEW really be set to?
John
