Why are build_makeflags set to '-cF' if the Make used in the X pool
does not allow for the -c option...

make: illegal option -- c
usage: make [-eiknqrst] [-D variable] [-d flags] [-f makefile ]
        [-I directory] [-j max_jobs] [variable=value]
