| Hi,
| I did a "kinit", it works fine. I then do a "bco" in my sandbox which is
| backed by a shared sandbox, it fails with "co: access denied by ACL".
|
| This is the first time I do a "bco" since I got my principal name, which is
| "Henry_Pau". Anything I missed?
|
| Thanks,
| Henry

You need to be added to the ACL's for the project(s) you are working on.
What are you working on? Do you have submits to go in? If so the project
team for the stream you are working on needs to send mail to reng@zk3 requesting
that you be added.

What's the workaround for this:
wasted {58} kinit
MIT Project Athena (wasted.zk3.dec.com)
Kerberos Initialization
Kerberos name: Debra_Haeck
Password:
wasted {59} !b
bco -u files
[ ./kernel/conf/alpha/files ]

There really is none until buffer comes back. You could grab a copy of
the file from a nightly tree if you want, but you won't be able to
bco the file until buffer is restored...

OK. I thought that maybe in the time since I left ZKO, another level of
securety had been added.

Subj: Problem with kinit
None of the below suggestions have fixed the problems. I really need some
help getting this working. I am guessing that there is a protection
problem since doing the kinit as "root" works.
Thanks,
Cliff

But have you run bindsetup? Or more accurately, can you do
nslookup kerberos1.zk3.dec.com
and have it return
Name: flambe.zk3.dec.com
Address: 16.140.96.19
Aliases: kerberos1.zk3.dec.com
If so, then as a last resort, copy the line
ZONE kerberos.zk3.dec.com
and put it before the kerberos1 line
If not run bindsetup.

| I have checked everything Madeline suggested and all looks fine. I have
| noticed that if I do a "kinit Cliff_Straw" as root then it works fine.

| Check /etc/krb.conf , it should look like this:
|
|
| mad@eigenspace [162] more /etc/krb.conf
| ZONE
| ZONE kerberos1.zk3.dec.com
| ZONE kerberos2.zk3.dec.com
| ZONE kerberos3.zk3.dec.com
| ZONE kerberos4.zk3.dec.com
| ZONE kerberos.zk3.dec.com
| ZONE kerberos.zk3.dec.com admin dummy
|
|
| Also check /etc/services for these :
|
| kerberos 750/udp kdc
| kerberos_master 751/tcp
| passwd_server 752/udp
| krb_prop 753/tcp
|
| One last thing to check:
|
| drwxrwxrwx /var/dss/kerberos/tkt/
|
| Make sure /usr/sde is mounted from one of the reng
| machines, like xor.
|
| If all of these look ok and it still doesn't work,
| send mail to reng.
