116.0. "this seems rather odd..." by SMURF::FILTER (Automatic Posting Software - mail to flume::puck) Mon Jun 07 1993 18:22

I have a sandbox which is backed by a shared sandbox which is backed by
agosminor.nightly which is (at least in concept) backed by agosmaint.bl4
which is backed by alpha.bl012 (if you follow the links that's where you
end up).

So what's my point? The value of SOURCEDIR is reset to not allow
me to see agosmaint.bl4.

echo $SOURCEDIR
/usr/sandboxes/secsb/src:/usr/sde/osf1/build/agosminor.nightly/src:/usr/sde/osf1
/build/agosminor.nightly/src:/usr/sde/alpha/build/alpha.bl012/src

A set of commands (bsh for example) make use of this value, along with
a slew of my own commands.

Can this be fixed please?

The concept is that only the submit tree is a shared sandbox. Once
it gets the nightly it is a standalone backing tree just like any other
Baselevel tree - a frozen snapshot in time. I don't believe that alpha.bl012
should be in there either, I just haven't changed it yet.

Ok, whatever... I have fixed all the tools that I use on a daily
bases to allow me to continue.

fyi, anyone who needs versions of bsh and the like, will need to
make changes to deal with how the "backing" trees rc_files are
setup.
