My best guess is that Robin's lint fixes cause the depend step to take considerably longer than it used to, though I remember it was already pretty long if you did it all by itself. From the time of your message and the timestamp I see on the file, it looks like it goes 45-70 minutes without writing anything to the log. Tight-sphinctered system management practices make it impossible for me to examine system logs to see if anything was recorded there. I would not expect this to be NFS related, since the agosminor.bld area is supposed to be fully populated. -- jmcg

I noticed it too when I was trying to build today. It took almost all day to finish the depend step. Since this is the first time I am building against minor I thought maybe people are used to it. I noticed that dependancies are created for .o's and .ln's. The .ln's I belive are for lint. Do I have an option of not creating lint dependancies so I don't have to wait for it also. Even on the maintenance release the dependancy generation takes too much time. --shashi |
