Hi,

My name is Wai Yim and I work in Cheryl Wiecek's group. I am currently
at an outside software vendor's site porting an software product similar to LVM
to our osf/1 platform.

No being very knowledgable in ode or makefiles. I am running into quite
a bit of problems. I am hoping you can help.

In particular, I started to put the files in my standalone ode env with
silver bl012 as backing tree. The few questions I have are...

1) Where is the place to specify -D's for an entire sub-directory tree? Would
it be the Makefile at the top of the tree?

2) Can a header file like types.h be included more than once?

3) Is it possible to talk to someone directly?

					Thanks,

					Wai

The answers to the first two questions are 1) Yes, you could do it there,
but it would get missed by single-directory builds and probably be missed
by anyone who looked at the tree later and 2) intended to be Yes, but you
should QAR any discrepancies. See the template.mk file in /usr/lib/makefiles
for more examples.

Send me direct mail if you have questions, and I'll try to answer phone
calls, but can't promise you'll find me (603-881-0407).
