Subj: Re: bsubmit wrapper install info
Rich, the answer is no. Tutorial submits, as well as other pools, are
unaffected by the bsubmit wrapper.
Make sure you sup the ode patches first and then install the local bsubmit.
Later, if you take in more patches, "de"-install using the -ode switch,
and then take then patches, then put back the wrapper with the -local
switch. I did this here friday and it worked fine.
We have other projects here also, some of whom use defect number and some
don't, (eg tutorial, documentation: books & man pages - 2 pools, and numerous
shared sandboxes like streams, cam, shared libs; your local commands sharedsb
should have no problems.) It requires that both submit_defect is true
and that also submit_defect_check is true, or else it works the "old way".
If a sharedsb wants submit_defect true for their own use, they should do
replace setenv submit_defect_check false
in their shared.sharedsandbox if they don't want this extra check (which
would require that their submit be of the form cmdsproj-...), since this
value would be inherited as true from whatever ag pool they back by.
thanks... --josh

Josh,
I was planning to install the bsubmit wrapper tonight along with
the latest ODE patches. Will the wrapper cause problems when people bsubmit
to the ODE tutorial?

Peter has been in the middle of a submit to that file. I've been trying to
catch up with him to clean up the submit. You'll need to hold off on submitting
that file for the moment. Give us about an hour to clean things up...

Hello. I attempted to bsubmit my files this morning to steel BL6, and
got this message:
% bsubmit -all
Enter the defect number this submission applies to: steelos-1124-jchang
>> FATAL ERROR in /usr/sde/ode3.0/tools/alpha_ace/bin/ode/bsubmit:
>> You are prevented from submitting to: /usr/sde/osf1/build/steelos.
>> No entry in submit or sadmin access lists.
I had done an srequest on this defect number previously with success.
This morning another submit (of mine) to BL6 went through successfully.
Any clues?
Thanks!

Hi Janice,
The Steel OS pool has been closed because some kernel problems
are being investigated. I'll send out a message when the pool is
opened again.
