    First of all, I apologise if this has already been covered, but
    I'm in a hurry and haven't got time to go through and check!

    I am writing a course guide and I would like to produce a heading
    that works like the <chapter> tag but which produces "Day X"
    or even "Module X" rather than "Chapter X". The problem is that
    course guides don't really have "chapters"! Am I asking the
    impossible?

    Thanks

    Alison

    Will <HEADx> fill the bill?

    You would need, for now, to create a 'local' or personal doctype
    that included the \input for the standard design you are using,
    and then add:

    \gdef\Chaptername{Module}

    This would replace the automatic occurrence of 'Chapter' with 'Module'.

| Thanks for your help. <Head1> won't do, I'm afraid,
    so I'll look into the other ideal
