828.0. "SIXEL file placement in V1.0 (not FT)" by CYCLPS::PANGAKIS () Wed Aug 19 1987 14:17

    Developers here are using DOCUMENT 1.0 (not FT) and are discovering the
    SIXEL files (created by using the CAPTURE utility and also by SIGHT)
    that were positioned appropriately in V1.0 FT are now pushed far
    to the right, sometimes running off the page.

    What's changed?

    Thanks in advance.

    You may want to send mail the Joe Wild (TLE::). As maintainer of
    CAPTURE, he may have a solution to your problem.
828.2Tried DECslide?EAYV05::WESTONTelecomms, the key to TomorrowMon Aug 24 1987 05:1912
Slight aside, but I have been using DECslide as a converter from Regis to
Sixels and it inserts fine in V1.0 (for me...)

Type "SLIDE/NOINTERACTIVE/SIXEL filename.ext" and wait whilst the picture
is painted on your screen and then read back to produce a sixel file. It
has the advantage over the above routine that it takes only one session and
does not capture the DCL PROMPT.

There is also REGISHARD routine, which doesn't need a terminal to do the
conversion, but I have not really had success with this one.

    Tara,

    Have you found your way around this problem? Have the users in
    question changed to another doctype which has a larger left-side
    gutter? Have they stopped using the \WIDE qualifier to <FIGURE_FILE>
    in situations where they had used it before? Or do you still have
    trouble with figure files?
