786.0. "<NESTED_TABLE_BREAK> gives extraneous ruled line" by AUTHOR::WELLCOME (Steve) Mon Aug 10 1987 17:40

    V1 puts an extraneous ruled line at the first occurrence
    of a <NESTED_TABLE_BREAK> tag in a nested table. The construction
    that causes the extraneous line, though valid, used to generate
    an extraneous error message in BL7 in addition to putting in the
    extraneous line. I think there was a note about it, but I can't
    find it. In any case, in V1 there is no longer an error message
    (which is correct), but the output is still wrong.
    I have a test table to reproduce the problem that I can send to
    anybody who is interested. Basically, though, it's set up something
    like this:

    <TABLE>
    ...setup 2-col table...
    <TABLE_ROW>(Column 1 stuff\

    <TABLE>
    ...setup 2-col table...
    <TABLE_ROW>(...)
    <NESTED_TABLE_BREAK>	<---a ruled line appears here in output
    <TABLE_ROW>(...)
    <NESTED_TABLE_BREAK>
    <TABLE_ROW>(...)
    <NESTED_TABLE_BREAK>
    <TABLE_ROW>(...)
    <ENDTABLE>)
    <ENDTABLE>

    <NESTED_TABLE_BREAK> admittedly doesn't provide the optimal method
    for formatting broken up tables. The extra rule following the
    first tag is still there; there is no message, but the behavior
    is documented in the User's Guide, Part 1. We will be looking for
    some better behavior ...
