In a REPORT document, I put <MARK> and <ENDMARK> around 4 paragraphs of text. Between the first and second paragraphs, is a <FIGURE> that it allowed to float. When the figure actually does float to a new page, no change bars appear on the initial paragraphs. Only the paragraphs following the figure have change bars. (This problem may be related to the "special" error reported in the previous topic.) -- Ward

Yes, it's related to the \special errors reported elsewhere. Change bars, as well as floating figures and tables, all use \mark in TeX to keep track of the context. Unfortunately, there is only one set of real 'mark' entities (unlike dimens, of which there are 256). We hope to look more carefully at all of this in our next plunge into TeX. patti |
