736.0. "empty page after included TEX file" by NCADC1::PEREZ (The sensitivity of a dung beetle.) Fri Jul 31 1987 14:05

    I'm running V1.0 of Document and including a TEX file of a keypad
    layout made with Picmode. It includes fine, and processes OK but:

    I'm including the TEX file into a figure with the /KEEP option.
    The file comes out OK, but the rest of the page is blank. I don't
    get the next paragraph until the start of the next page. Theres
    at least 4 inches of blank space to the bottom of the page.

    I've checked the file that I run through PICMODE. It doesn't have
    a bunch of blank lines. How do I get Document to put the next
    paragraph on the same page. When I tried the /FLOAT quailifier
    Document complained and said that included TEX files had to have the
    /KEEP qualifier on them.

736.1"I don't think there's anyone back there!"NCADC1::PEREZThe sensitivity of a dung beetle.Thu Aug 06 1987 21:468
    Hello? Anyone out there? PICMODE is still attacking my page.

    Seriously, since this document has to be delivered to a customer
    (yeah, one of those people with the MONEY) I really would like to
    find out how to not have unsightly empty page bottoms.

    thanks,

    I have created such a document using many "includes" and have not
    experienced this problem. For your info. I use REPORT with the figure
    include coded:

      <figure>
      <figure_attributes>(keep\wide)
      <include_tex_file>(picture.tex)
      <endfigure>

    Hope you didn't miss your deadline...remember that no one here uses
    PICMODE (though we've promised to look at it for future use). If
    you haven't solved your problem, we will need to look at the files.

736.4When the going gets tough, I go on vacation...like last week!NCADC1::PEREZThe sensitivity of a dung beetle.Mon Aug 10 1987 23:2211
    Well, so far we sort of skidded on the deadlines by giving the customer
    a "DRAFT" copy of some chapters for 20 or 30 of their favorite
    employees to look at.

    I'll make sure I have the document set up like the information in
    .2 and try it again. Could it be that some kind of interaction
    between the PICMODE, text paragraph, and the table right behind
    are causing a problem? I'll keep fiddling with it and maybe something
    will jump up and bite me.
