727.0. "?Classified docs and 1679A?" by SCADMN::MERRELL (Greg Merrell/DTN 521-4553) Wed Jul 29 1987 14:39
One of our customers here in Santa Clara wants to use DOCUMENT for
classified documentation. As a result, they have asked if the following
features are available either as distributed, or with tailoring:
1. Support for Mil-Std 1679A (I could only find mention of 490A
and 2167 here in the notes files and in the docset.) In particular,
the ability to have section headings duplicated on continuation pages.
This way, each page always has all sections identified on it.
2. The ability to tag each paragraph with a security level, e.g.
Secret, Top Secret, Confidential, etc., and then have DOCUMENT note
the highest level of security used on a given page and put it in
the top/bottom margins when printed.
Thanks,
Greg

| Sounds like an excellect opportunity for PSS, very similar to
purchasing ALL-IN-1 and requiring it to do something the vanilla
off-the-distribution version does not do.

727.2 | Custom work would be required | CLOSET::ANKLAM | | Wed Aug 12 1987 16:46 | 9 |

Yes, that is a good candidate for a customized DESIGN/doctype.
Note, however, that our V1.0 MILSPEC doctype is our initial foray
into the realm of military specs. I wouldn't be surprised if we
accumulate additional such requests over time, in which case we
would need to look at them and decide if we should implement.
