Sorry if I missed that somwhere, but this notesfile is really getting large. I've no luck so far in getting footnotes to work in tables (note that I have printed only vol. 1 of the UG ) What I've done : <LINE>(BIGSKIP) VAX-SCA bentigt folgende Mindestversionen der Kompiler : <TABLE>(Kompilerversionen) <TABLE_ATTRIBUTES>(KEEP) <TABLE_SETUP>(2\15) <TABLE_HEADS>(Untersttzte Software\Version) <TABLE_ROW>(VAX ADA <FOOTNOTE>(R\Ada ist eine registrierte Handelsmarke des U.S. Governement)\1.4) <TABLE_ROW>(VAX BASIC\3.1) <TABLE_ROW>(VAX BLISS-32\4.3) <TABLE_ROW>(VAX C\2.3) <TABLE_ROW>(VAX FORTRAN\4.6) <TABLE_ROW>(VAX PASCAL\3.5) <TABLE_ROW>(VAX PL/I\3.0) <ENDTABLE> and the other one : <APPENDIX>(Die Integration im VAXset\SETINTEGRATION) <TABLE>(Die Integration im berblick\INTEGTAB) <TABLE_ATTRIBUTES>(KEEP) <TABLE_SETUP>(8\8\8\4\4\4\4\4) <TABLE_HEADS>(\Kompiler\LSE\SCA\CMS\MMS\DTM\PCA) <TABLE_ROW>(Kompiler\ <SPECIAL_CHAR>(FULL_DIAMOND)\ <SPECIAL_CHAR>(FULL_DIAMOND)\ <SPECIAL_CHAR>(FULL_DIAMOND)<FOOTNOTE>(1\auer COBOL)\ <SPECIAL_CHAR>(FULL_DIAMOND)\ <SPECIAL_CHAR>(FULL_DIAMOND)\ <SPECIAL_CHAR>(FULL_DIAMOND)\ <SPECIAL_CHAR>(FULL_DIAMOND)) <TABLE_ROW>(LSE\ <SPECIAL_CHAR>(FULL_DIAMOND)\ <SPECIAL_CHAR>(FULL_DIAMOND)\ <SPECIAL_CHAR>(FULL_DIAMOND)\ <SPECIAL_CHAR>(FULL_DIAMOND)\\) <TABLE_ROW>(SCA\ <SPECIAL_CHAR>(FULL_DIAMOND)<FOOTREF>(1)\ <SPECIAL_CHAR>(FULL_DIAMOND)\ <SPECIAL_CHAR>(FULL_DIAMOND)\\ <SPECIAL_CHAR>(FULL_DIAMOND)\\) <TABLE_ROW>(CMS\ <SPECIAL_CHAR>(FULL_DIAMOND)\ <SPECIAL_CHAR>(FULL_DIAMOND)\\\ <SPECIAL_CHAR>(FULL_DIAMOND)\ <SPECIAL_CHAR>(FULL_DIAMOND)\ <SPECIAL_CHAR>(FULL_DIAMOND)\) <TABLE_ROW>(MMS\ <SPECIAL_CHAR>(FULL_DIAMOND)\\ <SPECIAL_CHAR>(FULL_DIAMOND)\ <SPECIAL_CHAR>(FULL_DIAMOND)\ <SPECIAL_CHAR>(FULL_DIAMOND)\\) <TABLE_ROW>(DTM\ <SPECIAL_CHAR>(FULL_DIAMOND)\\\ <SPECIAL_CHAR>(FULL_DIAMOND)\\ <SPECIAL_CHAR>(FULL_DIAMOND)\ <SPECIAL_CHAR>(FULL_DIAMOND)) <TABLE_ROW>(PCA\ <SPECIAL_CHAR>(FULL_DIAMOND)\\\\\ <SPECIAL_CHAR>(FULL_DIAMOND)\ <SPECIAL_CHAR>(FULL_DIAMOND)) <ENDTABLE> <ENDAPPENDIX> Those footnotes just refuse to appear. Another question : I like the style the DEC/Test Manager manual is written in, means I like lines drawn between the header-levels ( runoff term). How can I get there ? Thanks in advance, Gerold

Footnotes in tables are special. I'm not sure what version of everything you may have, but in the BL7 (I think) documentation, it's described on page 13-85 under <FOOTNOTE>. In essence, you need to define the footnote text separately, then use <FOOTREF> tags in the table rows for references. Put the <FOOTNOTE> tag with callout and text between the <TABLE_SETUP> and <TABLE_HEAD> tags, like so: <TABLE>(Some sort of table) <TABLE_SETUP>(2\10) <FOOTNOTE>(1\This is footnote text) <TABLE_HEADS>(First\Second column header) <TABLE_ROW>(ABC\Text describing first thing<FOOTREF>(1)) ... <ENDTABLE> | |||||

The DECtest Manager's book is a VMS layered product; that means that the book design is our internal LAYERED, which is based on the standard SOFTWARE.HANDBOOK. |
