In the process of moving DOC T1.0 from an RD52 to my larger RD54 system disk, apparantly the file DUA1:[SYS0.][SYSLIB]DOC$GUTENTAGSHR.EXE became lost/deleted/missing because when I invoke DOC it claims it can't use the file. Did I do anything wrong? I used BACKUP to copy the directory tree from one disk to the other and I modified DOC$STARTUP.COM to point DOC$ROOT to the right disk. Is there anything else to change? -Rudy. P.S. Is it OK just to copy that file from another system to mine? Are there any version discrepancies? If so which can I use?

In base level 7, the logical DOC$GUTENTAGSHR was used to point at the tag translator, which actually resides in [DOCTOOLS.TOOLS] as GUTENTAGSHR.EXE. I think y ou must have DOC$GUTENTAGSHR still defined to point at your RD52 in some way. Try replacing the definition of DOC$GUTENTAGSHR with the proper device and directory for the RD54. THe actual EXE file probably got copied correctly as part of the backup and restore. bill |
