Just curious: awaiting the appearance of the Document Internals book (I asked one to Santa): - Does Document use a type of TeX PLAIN.FMT / PLAIN.TEX ? - If it does, could I safely <include_tex_file> the LaTeX LPLAIN.TEX? Reason to ask is that I'm looking for a way to include the \begin{picture} ..... \end{picture} environment which would allow me to include a number of existing LaTeX pictures... - I think Document needs something simple to draw lines, vertically, horizontally and diagonally to allow something more pleasing than the dumm <LINE_ART> which to me looks like a Runoff page in Document. Surely we can do better than that. Theo

We use SDML.FMT, our own macro package. If you try to include any TeX definitions from LPLAIN, you may run out of room for \newdimens (in BL8; this is fixed in V1.0). You may also run into problems with control sequences for characters. I can't predict what other things might happen. patti | |||||

I was afraid that might be the case... But like the WASP's Commander Shore always says: "Anything can happen in the next half hour" Stingray...Stingray...it dives under the sea into the strangest worlds... (c) APF Films, Barry Gray |
