Does anyone out there have any experience going from TROFF, an ULTRIX text formatting system to DOCUMENT? Also interested in anyone who knows how to go from TROFF to PSROFF. Conversion programs are of particular interest. Thanx Rose

661.1 | YES, TROFF to DOCUMENT | HJUXB::HAHER | Mon Jul 20 1987 17:46 | 12
Rose I have written a conversion program in VAX SCAN to convert TROFF to DOCUMENT. All of the TROFF constructs (e.g. tables and pic) do not convert in a straightforwared manner. In other words, you must edit the files after you run the conversion. What is PSROFF - device independant TROFF???? Contact me at HJUXB::HAHER for further information. Elaine
661.2 | make my day! | COOKIE::JOHNSTON | Mon Jul 20 1987 19:36 | 14
Wow, Elaine. I'm franky astounded that I received a reply to that note; I was sure I was finally asking the impossible. A thousand blessings on your children and pets! May your toilet never clog! May your mail always send successfully across the net! Esen Oskarahan at COOKIE::OSKARAHAN is the engineer actually looking for the information. I have forwarded your message to him, so he should be in contact with you. Because he is a new user, you may have to exhibit some patience or ask me to be go-between if things get confusing. Thanx for your response! Rose
661.3 | PSROFF is postscript, I think | COOKIE::JOHNSTON | Mon Jul 20 1987 19:46 | 5
If I understood Esen correctly, PSROFF is a postscript version of TROFF. Rose |
