| Why not use <LINE>(INDENT\n)

     where n is the number 1, 2, or 3?

| Paragraph indentation is determined by the doctype; to make it automatic you must modify the .DESIGN file or, preferably, create a new one. <line>(indent\number) will work, but it must either follow the paragraph tag or be preceded by another <line>; otherwise you won't get the blank space between paragraphs. <line>(indent) indents the entire paragraph, not just the first
line. You need to modify the \paragraph definition (as Rose suggests)
in a DESIGN file. You might look at the paragraph definition in
    TEX$ARTICLE.DESIGN as a model.
