The equation in question processes without error in V1.0, due
to a modification involving the left and right characters. (The
output was modified so TeX can't get confused by all the { and }.)
The named modification also captures errors caused by unmatched
<lbrace> and <rbrace> delimiters, among others.
The tag translator will catch most, but not all, of the possible
problems that can occur in math mode. Some TeX errors will result,
but we are working to capture as many as possible.

Thanks for you response. That's great news that the equation runs
without problem in V1.0, at your place, but when do we get it so I can
run it too?

It was also fixed in the Field Test Update, which we made available
in April. The final V1.0 kit will be out in a week or so.
