595.0. "<xxxx_ATTRIBUTES> Tags and DOC$CONVERT" by PANAMA::GILLIAM () Mon Jul 06 1987 14:00
1. The descriptions and examples of the <TABLE_ATTRIBUTES>,
<FIGURE_ATTRIBUTES>, and <EXAMPLE_ATTRIBUTES> tags in Part 1 of the
User's Guide are a little confusing. The examples suggest that
keywords may used interchangeably as either the first or second
argument to these tags. Is this true?
<EXAMPLE_ATTRIBUTES> page 10-70, 10-76 (If no arguments, why specify it?)
<TABLE_ATTRIBUTES> pages 10-142, 10-241, 10-247, 10-256, 10-261
In fact, the format line for the <TABLE_ATTRIBUTES> tag indicates
only one argument is allowed. Perhaps, a backslash is missing.
2. DOC$CONVERT does not seem to convert figures correctly.
Here's the original 06 figure setup information.
<figure>(<ast_key>\\nofloat)
<figure>(<def_patt>\\nofloat)
<figure>(<new_patt>\\nofloat)
<figure>(<un_resize>\\nofloat)
<figure>(<resize>\\nofloat)
<figure>(<shrink_viewport>\\nofloat)
DOC$CONVERT (V1.7) does the following:
<FIGURE_ATTRIBUTES>(\nofloat)
<FIGURE_ATTRIBUTES>(\nofloat)
<FIGURE_ATTRIBUTES>(\nofloat)
<FIGURE_ATTRIBUTES>(\nofloat)
<FIGURE_ATTRIBUTES>(\nofloat)
<FIGURE_ATTRIBUTES>(\nofloat)
Even though, the tag translator doesn't mind NOFLOAT, figures that
never (or rarely) floated, now float unless NOFLOAT still works..
DOC$CONVERT should change the NOFLOAT keyword to KEEP.
And as always, if someone has screamed about this in an earlier
note, please ignore this.
