585.0. "Narrow tables and centred tables" by FNYFS::WYNFORD (The Rented Loony) Thu Jul 02 1987 05:04
I have a number of long but thin tables which currently are hand-coded
to use six-columns as a way of putting two sets of three-columns
side-by-side.
If I code them normally then DOCUMENT pushes everything over to
the left so I get a lot of white space at the right or a very spreadout
table.
1. Could a tag or attribute be worked up that would allow narrow
tables to "wrap" (as the index effectively does) with a vertical
line between the two halves. A difficult request, I know, but one
which would have useful results!
2. Can we have a new attribute for tables \centre which would centre
the table on the page instead of starting in the left margin?
Thanks,
Gavin
