578.0. "template sideffects on table of contents" by COLORS::MOORE () Tue Jun 30 1987 17:20
I am using BL8 of VMS Document. I have a problem with the sideffects
of using the command section template in the software.spec doctype.
The text produced by the command section template is okay - it does
what I want. However, it wrecks the table of contents. The indenting,
font, page numbering (switches from plain numbers to a symbol +
number) etc. are totally different.
When the template finishes, the table of contents resumes the original
style. Note: This is the only template I am using.
I had expected that the template would ONLY effect how the text within
the template would be displayed, not the format/style of the table
of contents.
I want to use the template, but am not willing to accept its
sideffects or delete it from the table of contents. Does anybody
have a workaround?

There have been other comments on the table of contents; we
will look more closely at making this better.
