I've just noticed that the DEC logo on the LN03 says | | | | | | | | TM |d|i|g|i|t|a|l| | | | | | | | | and the LN01 logo is | | | | | | | | |d|i|g|i|t|a|l| | | | | | | | | without the TM. Is this deliberate? A bug? A Feature? Which one is legally correct? Can the broken one be fixed expiditiously before we endanger our use of the logo? Lest you think I spend all my days looking for wierdnesses :-), I figure I ought to let you know how I found this...I've been doing writing of memos and sending the to the LN03. Well, my friendly neighbourhood LN03 is screaming "Feed Me Toner! Feed Me Toner!" so I printed the memo on the LN01. While A/B-ing the document looking for breakage, I came across this abnormality. Perhaps all doctypes ought to be run against sample files so we can find other breakages before the product leaves our scope of control. BobW

The trademark was inserted in the CUP$LOCAL_ELEMENTS.TEX definition because it is used on copyright pages, where it is required. We shouldn't need it on memos, since they are internal use only. The LN01 doesn't have the TM character in the fonts, and we never use the LN01 for anything but preliminary drafts, so we didn't think about modifying it there. |
