There appears to be a bug in the handling of logical names on the DOCUMENT command line in BL8. This worked in BL7. Here's a terminal session log -- you'll note the use the the OV: logical, which is defined and the file is in the directory, but DOCUMENT seems to ignore the logical when it looks for the SDML file. In BL7 it found the input file ok and created all the output in the current default directory, which is the desired/expected action. $ set def ov: $ cat ov_Ucol* Directory TOPAZ:[GREENE.OV] OV_UCOLO_Q487.SDML;2 9/9 3-JUN-1987 09:54 OV_UCOLO_Q487.SDML;1 9/9 3-JUN-1987 08:20 Total of 2 files, 18/18 blocks. $ set def w: $ cat ov* No files found $ docu ov:ov_ucolo_q487 eduover ln03 VAX DOCUMENT T1.0-008 Can't use TOPAZ:[GREENE.W]OV_UCOLO_Q487.SDML; as an input file. I think that was noted in the release notes. It has been fixed for V1.0. THe problem was that we were attempting to be nice and allow you to have EITHER filetype (SDML or GNC) when you did not explicitly state the filtype and in the process we lost the dev:[dir] that you supplied. If you say OV:file.SDML, then it works just fine in BL8. bill |
