409.0. "LSE file types" by TOKLAS::FELDMAN (PDS, our next success) Thu May 21 1987 16:51
Congratulations on the Baselevel 8 LSE support. It's obvious that
you've put a fair bit of work, much of it quite tedious, into improving
the templates and exploiting LSE V2 features.
One minor point: the new definitions only recognize .SDML and not
.GNC. I've read the release note remark on this, but it still isn't
clear to me whether that was a deliberate decision, or a
misunderstanding of LSE. LSE permits more than one file type to
be associated with a language (e.g. .B32 and .R32 for Bliss, .C
and .H for C, etc.). It certainly makes sense that the SDC kit
should only support SDML, but I've already had one local user get
bit by this change.
Needless to say, I've applied the obvious fix:
$ RENAME *.GNC.* *.SDML.*
User's who want to continue using both .GNC and .SDML can use an
LSE MODIFY LANGUAGE command.
Keep up the good work (and start planning a well-deserved release
party)!

409.1 | Thanks, I didn't realize... | VAXUUM::FARR | | Wed May 27 1987 14:12 | 9 |

I guess it's back to the LSEDIT documentation for me...I was
under the impression that only one filename could be used
per language.
In the meantime, thanks for showing others how to fix it for
two languages.
