374.0. "Disk quotas and crunched fonts" by CUPOLA::HAKKARAINEN (Albatross!) Wed May 13 1987 15:19
We've had a couple of cases where the wrong font info gets loaded into
a document. In both cases, the users had gone over quota during batch
processing. Jobs run later, after the directories had been cleared up,
ran fine. One user was using a modified VMSREF under bl06; the other
user used software.ref under bl07. In neither cases were errors issued
by Document. The fonts affected were for the title and for the running
heads. Those sections wound up looking like compressed print from an
la50. Otherwise, the print was correct.
Naturally, this has been a real tough problem to reproduce. We haven't
been able to isolate the point at which things break. So, as though we
had just seen a table float (in the ghostly sense, not in the TeXian
sense), we welcome reports of similar behavior.
