354.0. "DOC$TEX_TOOLS:*.com missing! Why?" by CLARID::KREYER (Andre KREYER - Valbonne) Thu May 07 1987 11:12

    One of the DOCUMENT T1.0 users on my system just told me he couldn't
    find some tools like DOC$TEX_TOOLS:BUILT_STT.COM for example.

    Checking a bit further, we discovered that we even didn't have a
    logical DOC$TEX_TOOLS defined. I'm nearly sure I ran the installation
    as documented (first a full with no device support, later one device
    at a time...)

    Question: Why are we missing those tools (command files), what mistake
              dis I make, and how can I recover the missing bits????

    Thanks for your help,              .Andre.

    DOCUMENT no longer uses the directory DOC$TEX_TOOLS, so it is not
    defined. The 'Release Notes for Base Level 6 Users', in the chapter
    on changes for system administrators, describes the new procedure
    for creating STT files:

    $ DOCUMENT filename.GDX DOCTYPE_STT TAG_TABLE

    You must have the DEC internal kit installed for the keywords
    DOCTYPE_STT and TAG_TABLE to be recognized.

354.2Latest documentation set: where??CHIC::KREYERAndre KREYER - ValbonneTue May 12 1987 11:1611

    Thanks Patti, I think part of our problem might be linked with an
    obsolete doc set...

    Can you may be point me to the latest documentation package???

                                         .Andre.

    P.S: We are located in south of France, so a European location would
    be prefarable (if possible)

 We've got FT1 documentation on a tape after we've printed it on an LN03.
 It boils down to 4 (four) large VMS Ref. Man. binders to accomodate
 the 2 user Guides (Part I/II) and the introductory / administrator
 material. We could put it on-line for a short while.
