    The following wide LINE_ART figures are identical except that a
    <P> tag precedes the latter.  The former (non-<P>) gets garbaged,
    the latter (<P>) comes out OK.  I believe use of <P> tags in contexts
    like this is being discouraged, so...
    
    (Good thing I stumbled on the workaround -- only recourse was to
    split up an 18-row-by-15-column "table"...)
