281.0. "Update bugs" by CLT::KAVANAGH () Tue Apr 21 1987 13:24

I'm sure these bugs aren't going to be high on your priority list,
but I'd thought I'd let you know about them anyway.

    1. DOCUMENT prints footnote when there is none.

I used an <update_range> tag two pages after a
<footnote> tag and the footnote was printed at the bottom
of the first page in the update range.

    2. Change bar goes haywire.

If a change bar is coded around text on a point
page (for example A-48.1), and text only appears on half of the
page, DOCUMENT begins the change bar approximately 8 lines
below where it should begin and continues it to the bottom of the page
    (where there is no text!).

    3. Change bars usually start a few lines above and end a few lines
    below where they should.

    4. You cannot place change bars around a figure (I believe you know
    about this one).

    5. <REVISION>(UPDATE\April 1987)

I tried this argument to the <REVISION> tag and got an error.
I had to ask a system analyst to edit the DOCUMENT macro file to get the
date printed at the bottom of the page. (I haven't tested this for
    T1.0.)

Congrats on getting DOCUMENT out for Field Test! It's looking good.

    On bars, see 344.6

On updates: the bug in <revision>(update\text) is fixed.

The footnote appeared at the bottom of the page because TeX was
holding on to it; this is one of the cases where the text preceding
the <update_range> tag should be evaluated to see if you want to
close a figure, table, or a page before starting off on the update
    range.
