182.0. "Formal examples with KEEP sometimes start new page" by VAXUUM::BELMAN () Wed Apr 01 1987 16:22

I am having trouble with formal examples using KEEP as an
example_attribute. Sometimes these examples begin a new
page, even when they would fit on the previous page. This
was first brought up in Note 117 as a fallout from the
    original note, but never resolved.

Note 117 is still unresolved because I couldn't duplicate any of
the problems you mentioned (I have been working on it off and on).
If you have another file, I will look at that also. Please send
an LN3 along with the GNC so will know what I am looking for. If
you are still having problems with the original file I'd like to
see an LN3 of that also.

I think we got this one. Changes to the examples in the FT update
have cleared up the bad page breaks in the example Carolyn sent
    me.

182.3too much space with informal examples, tooCOOKIE::JOHNSTONFri Apr 03 1987 14:2412
This doesn't happen just with formal examples; it also happens with
<code_example>/<endcode_example>. I suspect other "example" type things
are also affected, but haven't personally tested them.

Is there a simple fix or workaround that you can recommend until the FT
update is available?

Thanx

The only work around I can think of is to use <final_cleanup>(page)
to force pagination during a final run of the document. sorry
