| As I just said in another reply, "Yes, OUTLINE is just dandy for
handling simple DOCUMENT files." It won't do everything, but it's
a great start.
The OUTLINE notes file is at: SHALOT::OUTLINE
or press <SELECT> or <KP7> to add the entry to your notebook.

| If you have already been using OUTLINE, define the logical
OUTLINE$OPTION_DOCUMENT
to enable use of DOCUMENT. It will appear under the PRINT operation
(GOLD P).
To summarize what OUTLINE currently handles,
FRONT_MATTER
PARTPAGES
GLOSSARY
CHAPTERS
APPENDICIES
TABLES
FIGURES (coming in 811)
EXAMPLES (coming in 811)
LISTS (numbered, alphabetic, bulletted,
with simple and callout numbered coming in
811).
EXTERNAL_DATA element can be used to pull in "included" data
and tags.
There are four basic styles handled right now:
Numbered headings for topics
Book (chapters and appendicies)
Outline (uses <OUTLINE> tags)
EDUOVERhead for transparencies
(Other's under consideration are MEMO, LETTER, ARTICLE, MIL_SPEC).
TAGS and arguments can be embedded in text for additional features
such as emphasis, index entries, etc.
OUTLINE will also handle processing by DOCUMENT so that a full book
run is done, including TOC and INDEX processing. Or the resulting
source file can be saved for inclusion in a full book build as
a section/chapter.
