128.0. "Tags nested too deep - bug?" by TOPDOC::HIDER (Paul Hider) Thu Mar 19 1987 11:51
The following document get a "More than 5 nested levels of tags" error.
This extract is from a document that worked fine under BL06 and was run
through the converter.

128.1 | 4 .NE. 6 | VAXUUM::KOHLBRENNER | | Thu Mar 19 1987 14:58 | 4 |
| Hmmmmmm. I'll take a look. You only nested four deep.
It shouldn't have complained about nesting until it saw
two more levels...
|
128.2 | Might be the Converter | VAXUUM::WILLETT | | Mon Mar 23 1987 15:47 | 5 |
| It may be the converter's fault. Could you send the bl6
version of the file (filename.gnc_6)?
I am currently fixing a problem with the converter and the
end result looks a little like this.
|
128.3 | We underestimated the required depth. | VAXUUM::KOHLBRENNER | | Tue Mar 24 1987 11:04 | 12 |
| Your <reference> tag is at the fourth level of nesting.
(It is nested in a <quote> tag which is nested in an
<emphasis> tag, whcih is nested in a <table_row> tag.)
The definition of the <reference> tag requires that more
tags get executed, and they start executing at nesting
level 4. Well, it turns out that they try to go down
two more levels and so pretty soon we run up against the
(arbitrary) level of 5, and attempt to go to 6.
I've increased the nesting depth to 10 for the FT update.
|
128.4 | is it documented? | DSSDEV::EPPES | Dignity, always dignity | Mon Apr 20 1987 19:31 | 6 |
| I just had this happen to me, sigh. I forgot a closing paren after
a <reference> tag within a <table_row>. Anyway, I couldn't find
anything in the documentation about restrictions on nesting levels.
There's no index or table of contents entry. Is the restriction
documented? If not, it should be...
