| SDMLLSE goes away with T1.0 and is replaced simply by LSEDIT.

| LSEDIT requires a file type of .GNC to know about the correct language.
If you have LSEDIT V2.0FT (maybe V1.3 as well), you should try the
LSE comamnd COMPILE/REVIEW as described in the Appendix of the VAX
DOCUMENT User;s Guide, Part 1. You can separately use DOCUEM/DIAG as
a command (for batch mode perhaps) and later invoke LSEDIT's REVIEW
command.

There are still numerous references to SDMLLSE in the
documentation (eg. See Appendix B to the "Step-by-step:
Writing with DOCUMENT"). Further many simple placeholders
appear to be undefined ... Just as a sample try <TABLE>
expansion.

| Thanks for pointing out the problems...documentation errors will
be fixed.
The placeholders should be defined to work as the documentation
illustrates. For a list of known problems, see Note 8.

| I have installed the kit as described in the installation guide, with
separate partial installs for each device. My problem is that LSE doesn't
recognize the SDML language. I have V1.3-17 of LSE on my system. Is
this version too old?
As a workaround I copied VAXUUM::DOC$BL07_ROOT:[TOOLS]SDMLLSE.ENV and
defined SDMLLSE to point to that (in baselevels.com).

5.6 | Need LSE T2.0 | CRAYON::GENT | Not implemented | Fri Mar 06 1987 08:11 | 11 |
| Marty,
See note #12.
There is a problem with VMS V4.5 and LSE V1.3. (In fact, it might
exist on other VMS versions after V4.2, I'm not sure. But we found it
on V4.5.)
You will need to upgrade to LSE T2.0.

| All fixed.
If your LSE doesn't recognize SDML, then
1. Install LSE T2 from TLE::SYS$KITS:LSE020.A,B
2. Do a partial install of DOCUMENT T1 for the LSE support only.
